I think at that point it's just about having something "different", maybe even a little harder to get a hold of. The whole car doesn't exactly scream "I love aesthetics".

I love that car.

A lot of work into it.

I just hate that he sold it. I feel if you have that much time and work into a car you should keep it....No one else who owns it will respect the work into it the way the builder did.
